Unpeel the Onion to find Peace + Thought shall not kill + Jews are potentially fake

After Remembrance Day we have probably had our fill of people promising us peace by fighting. This is clearly nonsense *. The way to Peace is totally different from all this activity. In its simplest form if people stopped fighting then war would end, there is literally nothing to do to end war.

One way to look at the path to Peace is like wrapping up an onion. There are levels to this.

The lowest level is Level A where people operate only for themselves. Psychopaths fit this level. Working in a prison like Broadmoor for example, you will have met many people at this level.

Eventually someone hits our mother, wife or children and we step in to protect them. We are suddenly caring about people beyond our self and we crawl into level B.

Eventually our country is attacked and we sign up to defend it and we enter level C.

While fighting we bayonet an enemy soldier and hear him crying out for his mother we suddenly realise he is human just like us. When this sense of us being the same becomes greater than our training by our leaders to see him as alien and enemy, then we start to see level D.

Levels D/E/F are really, really confused. During Remembrance Day we hear lots of references to Christ when Christ never once said take up arms against anyone. He said "turn the other cheek" [Matthew 5:39] and "he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword." [Matthew 26:52]. People at level D realise that hurting anyone is hurting them self. By the time you enter Level E hurting anyone is hurting God's creation, its quite the opposite of lower behaviours.

So the god/God levels no longer involve violence. It is almost comical how people in the name of God embark on Jihads and Crusades. Surely God is powerful enough to punish wrong doers by himself, our job is simply to make sure we are not among them when punishment comes. Hence another of Jesus' famous lines, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone" [John 8:7] Give up condemning others, focus just on making yourself ready for God, there is more than enough work in that alone,. You look at the Jewish, Muslim and Christian worlds and you realise that really these worlds follow the Devil. 

It gets very sophisticated up here beyond level D and anyone who gets here is probably high enough evolved to continue by them self... keep exploring the levels of the onion.

* So there is the idea of Pax as in Pax Romana, Pax Brittannia and now Pax Americana. When you have a strong mafia in town then there is peace, because everyone is afraid to argue. This is a kind of peace that I have called Pax before in this blog. Periods of Pax in history are associated with growth in trade and culture because there is stability. It's a very practical time. When people say "fight for peace" what they mean is "fight for Pax" which means supporting a mafia so that it becomes so powerful that all other mafia stop fighting. Iraq was an excellent example of this. Once the Pax Hussein was ended the country turned into a violent brawl as all the old mafia starting fighting for power. The US basically turned out to not be powerful enough to enforce Pax. To do this you need deep connections, collaborators and information about a region: what Hussein had but the US did not in the infinite ignorance about the art of Empire. They still need more schooling by the UK who was a lot better at this and has centuries of experience.

Anyway this is Pax. But it is not peace. There is no good will toward Pax, it is simply treading water until opportunity arises for people to fight for power again. Empire's fall, incompetent leaders take over and fighting can resume. Pax and War are brothers. Pax is like drug addicts who have had their drugs confiscated, but will start taking them again as soon as they are available. Peace is drug addicts who understand this is not their best life and want to reform. Even when drugs are present they work to avoid them. Very different things.

Peace is different. Once you understand that fighting is stupid then you no longer do it. A peaceful nation does not fight cos it can't, it doesn't fight cos it doesn't want to. Very different. Differences are not solved by beating up people until they stop arguing, they are diplomatically and intelligently approached looking for mutual agreement. Alexander the Great for all his mythological military prowess actually created his empire through agreements and marriages. The fighting was not so important. Unfortunately he did not have the acumen to maintain an empire.

So there is a contradiction. At no point does Christ point to violence. When asked what is the most important commandment he says:

'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. [Matthew 22:37–40]

His words are in both verses shall-love or Ἀγαπήσεις/Agapíseis.

This love is translated here  :

To love (25) (agapao - see related study of noun agape) means to love unconditionally and sacrificially as God Himself loves sinful men (John 3:16), the way He loves the Son (John 3:35, 15:9, 17:23, 24).
Note that agapao is a verb and by its verbal nature calls for action. This quality of love is not an emotion but is an action initiated by a volitional choice.
MacArthur writes that agapao "expresses the purest, noblest form of love, which is volitionally driven, not motivated by superficial appearance, emotional attraction, or sentimental relationship. (MacArthur, John: 1 & 2 Thessalonians. Moody Press) In his commentary on 1 Peter MacArthur says it this way "agapaō expresses the ideal kind of love, that which is exercised by the will rather than emotion, not determined by the beauty or desirability of the object, but by the noble intention of the one who loves."

So Jesus always talks in terms of compassion and profound commitment to God and other people. Not a passive nice feeling of support, but a deep drive to associate and nurture.

So we turn to the 6th Commandment:

"Thought shall not kill."

It is an unfortunate translation, and rather confusing because the Old Testament is literally full of people killing. The Greek is Οὐ φονεύσεις which is from the root φονεύω meaning murder. So the proper translation is more narrow than kill, it is illegal killing. Obviously the Old Testament would not condemn war as it is full of it, and extreme war as well. Consider the wiki page analysis.

The Hebrew word is Retzach and this is expanded in the wider Mitzvot commandments:  

The 613 Mitzvot extend the notion of lawful killing to the nations that inhabited the Promised Land, commanding to exterminate them completely. Deuteronomy 20:10–18 establishes rules on killing civilians in warfare:

the population of cities outside of the Promised Land, if they surrender, should be made tributaries and left alive (20:10–11)

those cities outside of the Promised Land that resist should be besieged, and once they fall, the male population should be exterminated, but the women and children should be left alive (20:12–15)

of those cities that were within the Promised Land, however, everybody was to be killed.

So "Not Killing" even includes genocide if done within the context of war.

So how does Jesus who never disagrees with the Old Law but simply revises the writing of it to focus on the true meaning reconcile his teachings of Agapao with Retzach. Even faced with the lawful stoning of the adulteress something clearly stated in the Hebrew Law he asks the accusers to consider their own moral status before executing the law. If people cannot even execute the law of God on this small scale then how would Jesus encourage them to destroy whole cities?

It all points to the Jews having major misunderstandings of their own Laws. Either that or they must discredit the Prophet Jesus.

I do not know the answer. But since God encourages genocide within the Promised Land it did occur to me that the Jews should not be surprised if they experience genocide outside the Promised Land.

And that seems to me to be the failing of Judaism. It is remarkable given the depth of Jewish scholarship like Adorno and Levinas that no one has considered the Dialectic Jew/Gentile. Judaism is a limited concept because it divides the whole into opposing parts, and these parts are always in Hegelian conflict. It is no surprise that Jews massacre people inside the Promised Land and it is no surprise that Gentiles massacre Jews outside the Promised Land. It must in fact logically be like this. But as any dialectic will point out this will eventually lead to transcendence or aufhebung.  Of course this dialectic only exists within Judaism because outside Judaism there is no such thing as a Gentile. Indeed many people outside the Promised Land wonder what all the fuss is about: a storm in a teacup that only makes sense within the Judaic paradigm. That in itself is proof that there is nothing fundamental about Judaism: you cannot experience it, you must learn it! A Gentile is not born a Gentile they must learn they are a Gentile. And through the mirror a Jew is not born a Jew, they must learn they are a Jew. For some reason entire race of Jews seem stuck at Level C above and are unable/unwilling to conceive of a broader Humanity (Level D). How especially ironic as in the schema above you need to get to Level D before even appreciating True God. How can you appreciate the Creator God if you are still hung up on particular aspects of that Creation!

It all points to Judaism being fake. And the problems get deeper. I do not know who the God of Abraham was, but he was not the same God that sent the most famous Jewish prophet Jesus. The God of Abraham was a jealous God while of Father of Jesus is infinitely forgiving to those who have faith. The God of Abraham and Moses spends all his time punishing people. He commands 3000 executed for the transgression of worshipping the Golden Calf. Are we to presume that none of them were repentant of their sin? If any were repentant then we have a God executing those asking for forgiveness. This is not a merciful God. While the God of Jesus places mercy and forgiveness ahead of all things. The sins of the truly repentant are forgiven. This does not make Yahweh Bet a push over. You need be "truly repentant" and God knows what you deepest intentions are, so any sneaky attempts to cheat justice will fail. But for those who have seen the error of their ways Yahweh Bet will kill the fattened calf as the father does to celebrate the return of the prodigal son.

Yahweh Bet and Yahweh Alef are absolutely not the same Gods!

So who knows what God the Jews follow. I'm even prepared to think there was a switch and it is Jacob who breaks the Jewish line.

Genesis 27:
Jacob went in to his father and said, “Father.”
And his father said, “Yes, my son. Who are you?”
Jacob said to him, “I am Esau, your first son. I have done what you told me. Now sit up and eat some meat of the animal I hunted for you. Then bless me.”

So Jacob tricks his father and become the illegitimate lineage that we now call Jews. Obviously God saw all this, God is not tricked, so God leaves the bible at this point. 

Then we pick up "God" (or a god) again in the next chapter. But I don't think spirits that visit you at oasis in the night can be trusted. This is where the desert jinn hang out. I believe that Jacob, the illegitimate heir of Abraham, was tricked by a jinn or demon to follow him.

We have Jesus being tricked and tempted in exactly the same way in the desert and Jesus rejects the temptations of the devil. So it seems quite possible, altho arrogant speculation because this has been studied for 1000s of years and who am I, that the Jewish line to Abraham is broken and Jacob was the liar who fooled his heirs and broke the link . However this does not explain how YaHWeH Alef was a completely different God from YaHWeH Bet that Jesus spoke of. And it does not, as it stands, explain why the Jews are never at peace. Work to do... 

For reference the (possible) tricking of Jacob by a desert jinn. In Genesis 28:10-17:

Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”

So this means that the descendants of Abraham are the Edomites and not the Jews. And it means that a desert Jinn is what promised Moses the Promised Land and he made the mistake of accepting it (unlike Jesus later on). Uh ho you do not accept gifts from a devil! Perhaps this explains the constant grief the Jews have since experienced?

Is there anything good about Israel?

It it really is hard to find anything good about Israel. You would think after the 384,000 Allied soldiers who sacrificed themselves to free the Jews from captivity under the NAZIS and the British who set up the state of Israel that Israel would join in Remembrance Day to honour the sacrifices made on behalf of the Jews. Indeed without this sacrifice, which no one needed to make as NAZI Germany was no threat to the West (despite Churchill's constant attempts, and final success, to starting war) there would be no Jews! This means every Jew forever has an eternal debt of gratitude to the West for their very existence. Yet of course never a word of thanks, and not a care for anyone who is not Jewish. Israel is a wholly corrupt institution, and Western powers are fools to support this thankless pit of self absorption.

What is Enlightenment?

 Update to the on going process.

Gaining more respect for Daniel Dennett altho cannot comment on all the details of Consciousness Explained as I read it along time ago and only once. The title is completely misleading for my purposes as "explaining" is not the currency of human existence. "Explaining" would actually just be one of the narratives of a decentralised brain, and who cares for that.

However his attack on the Cartesian Theatre is spot on from an Enlightenment perspective.

The problem with Unenlightened existence is that it seems like the whole world is unfolding for some being. That is the essence of ignorance and unenlightenment.

By contrast Enlightened existence is just the unfolding of the world.

It's been observed in this blog that there are problems everywhere with the Unenlightened view. One of the most striking is the belief that the world exists as it appears and then we experience it. This is particular apparent in the unenlightened experience of sight.

Consider how the unenlightened, looking into the night sky, see the star Alpha-Centauri in the constellation of Centaurus. After a bit of schooling and thinking about light travelling in straight lines and eyes being sensitive to light and light-years etc, they conclude that light is produced by the star then travel for 4 years across space to their eyes on Earth and then they see it. So this is factually correct but how do we overlay this story with what we see in the night sky? Well the problem is that the star we see in the night sky is after the light has travelled across space. What we are looking at is the star as it appeared 4 years ago. But to understand exactly how we are unenlightened, we need to realise that what we see in the night sky is the result of having already seen it. We know that before we see something it is "invisible." So anything "visible" has already been seen. The light has already entered out eyes. So standing under the heavens looking at a star "far away" the light to make that out, must have already entered our eyes. So it is wrong to think of light leaving that far away star and entering our eyes. That apparently "far away" star over there twinkling in the sky has actually already been seen, and the light has already entered our eyes over here. There is nothing left to do, no more light needs to travel and no more seeing is needed. Its all done right now in the Present.

So we can pick up Daniel Dennett again and see that the whole "time" of consciousness is messed up. What we think is a sequence of events has actually already happened. This throws us immediately into appreciating "Present Moment." Looking at the star in the heavens, that twinkling point of brilliant light, there is no before and after there is just the experience of twinkling star. This is the starting point. Time starts with this experience and flows back and forward. We can start thinking about this experience to "explain" it in Dennett terms, and we will understand that the light actually set off 4 years ago, so we trace back in time. And we can imagine standing on the star and seeing the light heading off towards Earth to make contact with us in 4 years time looking forward into the future. But all the rewinding the tape, and fast forwarding is not "real" its narratives built around the experience of the twinkling light in the sky.

If we think time is real, then we can start applying "time" to the processes at work as we think about 4 years of light travel. We can't see that, we can only thinking about it, and we can watch those thoughts happening. They take time themselves. we can't step outside the process and occupy a timeless spot from which to measure time. It's always relative, and we start getting into Einstein. Where Big Bang is wrong is there is no Time Zero. It's odd that it's taken until the 21st Century and the James Webb Telescope for Physics to start to accept this. One thing people may not appreciate is that in Big Bang theory everywhere is Space Zero. The universe started at the end of your finger and also at the distant stars. Its inflationary so at one time all places were the same... at least in Big Bag Theory. But what we are appreciating (very) slowly is this was not Time Zero. There is no Absolute anything and so no start from which to measure. The only Absolute is Present, everything comes from this. This is why we say the universe is 13.7 billion years old, we are looking backwards from the Present! Present is the Zero.

Anyway back to Enlightenment. As we gradually expand our appreciation of what is Present we eventually start to realise that everything is just Present and there is nothing else. Nothing hiding in the Past, nothing hiding in the Future, and most definitely nothing hiding in the Present. That should feel quite destabilising if you understand it. There is no where to hide yourself, because there is no yourself to hide.

Back to Dennett. The world is not happening "for you." It is just happening. "You" have already seen and thought everything that is Present. "You" is already done in the process, so you can discard "yourself" and just take the Present.

Now I made a bad mistake as a teenager over this. The obvious next step is to think that the "self" must therefore be "outside" the world. Perhaps like the Computer that is doing a simulation of the world. You hear people talking about the brain as though somehow the "world simulation" was inside it. I used to point into the sky when asked where I was. At least I realised that what I "thought" was me, this "body", "sensations" and "thoughts" was just the manifestation of a self that has already happened. But I was still looking to put it some place else other than Now.

But I was a baby trying to run before I could crawl. You cannot think or manifest your way out of the box. When you are holding onto a deep idea of a solid self it will follow you everywhere even into deep realisation about the world. Many people's mundane experience of God is tainted by carrying themselves into the Holy Space. Jews have one thing right: God is fearful. You do not dare have the temerity to even think about taking yourself into the company of God. You are not worthy! I had the arrogance to take myself into deep realisation about the world. You can go nowhere if you use yourself as the vehicle. God will laugh at your vanity! The Greeks were right about this. Hubris and disaster awaits anyone who wishes to profit from or claim any Divine gifts for themself.

Many Buddhists would probably frown at my mashing up of Theology with Buddhism but once we see it ALL as just narrative it does not matter. Expedient means!

So there is no "time" in Reality. Everything is NOW. Not even a split second ago, or in the future. NOW and NOW only. If you "think" its not, then you are not Present and have drifted into thinking "about" something. Thinking is always done NOW, but within thoughts we can be anytime. This is why we must tell stories of the Past. A story is told Today, and the Past can only exist in stories and thoughts. If you ever think anything is not right NOW then it must be inside a story.

So the Enlightened let go of anything that is not RIGHT NOW. There is no place or time in Reality for anything else. Everything is already completely filled by the Present. They do no believe or hold on to anything "Hidden".

If we bring our attention to our unenlightened experience we should be able to discern at some level a whole realm that is more of less cordoned off in which "we" live. It is really unclear where it is. Pretty sure a large chunk of it is "behind" us where we cannot see. That seems like a nice hidden area. And then some bits in the Past and the Future where are memories and dreams are stored. Its a really messy realm with leaves or desert sands being blown around so we can't quite pin it down. Perhaps today we are overwhelmed with hope and expectations of the future, perhaps on another day the wind blows the sands and uncovered deep emotional memories of the Past that were "hidden" yesterday and are now revealed. Into all this we imagine roughly we must be hidden somewhere. There's a mouse in the room, not quite sure where but I'm sure it in here somewhere. (Interestingly and need look up but there are strong connections in Sanskrit between the words for mouse, thief and mouse stopper, and enlightened. So having a mouse like self scurrying around in our minds is like having a thief around who steals our Present).   

But the Enlightened sees this shifting sands and swirling around NOW. We must wait for what is revealed, and we must wait for it to be hidden again. We are not in the sands, and we are not revealed or hidden. The revealing and the hiding has already happened like the star being seen in the sky. There is no time or room for us to sneak into these things. They hit us before we even knew they were coming. How can we now get inside them if we are not already there? That is always "after production" work we try to back date things to try and sneak our self into the narrative. "Oh that person getting the birthday cake was me." But we need think cos obviously we are not that person as we are NOW and the person in the memory is not NOW. Its all after post-production work we do, but we do all of it NOW.

In summary the Enlightened do not waste time trying to get "into" every story about the Past or hope for the Future. They just accept what is PRESENT and don't waste a second looking for hidden things they believe are there, like themself. NOW is what is is. End of.

It is not that Enlightened suddenly do not think, or have feeling, or memories or anything. They do all this. But they don't waste time trying to squeeze them self into it all in post production. They are already in it by being PRESENT! After all the star and the world has already been seen, what is left for me to do? Always Nothing, so why bother?

Addendum to above.

So we appear to have a conflict. The above argues that there is no time to experience. It has already happened in order to manifest. You can't see or sense things before you have seen or sensed them. So when we see a distant object, actually we have already seen it, and the idea it is "distant" is added as part of the processing.

I should add here this makes some think consciousness seem like an "epiphenomenon." If all the processing has already happened before we see it then what is the point of consciousness. But this idea stems from Cartesian Theatre. If we think "I" am sitting at the heart of the process and my brain is processing everything in order to give "me" a final report or consciousness of events then indeed we might ask why do I need to know? But once we realise that even the idea of "handing the report to myself" is itself already processed, that itself is part of the film then we realise that seeing is just seeing and consciousness is just consciousness. It is not "for" anyone, it is just itself. The process of seeing looks like having a world around us; That IS seeing. No one inside that world to see it again.

So there is no time inside experience, it is happening NOW.

Yet Daniel Dennett spends a fair amount of time in the book explaining that in the lab the brain does not have a central time. There is no "final" point of processing. It is an asynchronous system like a modern computer with interrupts and delayed processing all happening concurrently. Study subjects when asked to press buttons and speak when they think things are happening may well send electrical signal to the fingers before any brain processing associated with speech lights up. This makes sense as the nerves to the finger muscles are a long way away and take time, so we have evolved to send those our first. But it means what the brain is doing does not correlate with our experience. What we think of as one conscious event is associated with multiple events occurring at different times.

This is seen most extremely in patients who have had their corpus callosum cut, as was done to stop certain types of epilepsy. This separates the left and right parts of the brain. This now means there are two distinct people and consciousnesses. The left hemisphere handles right vision, left hearing, left body movements and speech, and the right hemisphere handles the other sides. So it means you can ask a patient to respond to things and determine which part of the brain is communicating. There really are two people unaware of each other.

This rather suggests with a connected Corpus Callosum there are still "two people" but they are intercommunicating. It makes it impossible to hold the idea that there is no one "person" centralised in the brain. Dennett explains this centralised "person" as a "virtual machine" being simulated on the parallel system of the brain.

This is all great stuff. So where is Present Moment? Does this not look like the "centralised person" and synchronous brain? No. "Present Moment" is not a tick of a clock. It does not suggest that everything is concurrent in a physical time. It simply means that what is, is what is. The emergence of things is what they are. It is supposed to shift attention from external measures like physical time and linguistic categories of  thoughts and words towards the phenomena themselves. They do the talking, and only them. It may indeed be that the emergence of awareness of a sound comes after we send signals to our fingers to press a button, but this does not matter. The mind is a complex place, no one says otherwise. All we need to do is allow it be what it is. That is all Present Moment is. When a sound emerges we just let it emerge. That emergence IS Present Moment. whether the guy in the lab tell us afterwards that this was a very complex bit pf processing that took so many milliseconds to happen after the actual sound does not matter. The point is just the emergence of what emerges. The rest is just thoughts that will emerge later on.

Joe Sommerlad of the Independent thinks supporting civilians is "pro" Palestinian.

I wonder what the Independent newspaper would do if you attended both the "pro" Israeli and "pro" Palestinian marches?

I mean its quite reasonable to attend the Pro-Israeli one after the terror attack. What I think is called basic human rights.

It's also quite reasonable to attend the Pro-Palestinian one because you think Palestinians should have autonomy and international recognition like any people, and innocent people should be able to live without fear of persecution and murder. Also basic human rights.

This is the problem with politics: it has nothing to do with truth, its all about grouping people together into opposing factions that can then be destroyed. That the Jews are doing this with Palestinians: "that some people in Palestine committed an atrocity means they all must suffer" is identical to the way the NAZIS argued "all Jews must suffer for the threat posed by a few". Jewish actions again and again prove that Jews are no different from any other people and they share the exact same weaknesses that they are always crying they are the sole victims of. Basically wake up! Your own prophet said let them who is without sin cast the first stone.

Pro-Israeli and Pro-Palestinian are completely different marches, and not exclusive in any way. Its all just more evidence that the real enemy in the UK is the worse than useless press. Name and shame idiots like Joe Sommerlad who write this nonsense.

To support Remembrance Day you must stand with the Far-Right. LOL.

Wow the toxic culture that is Britain all on display now. If anyone thinks they agree with "Remembrance Day" look at the company you hold! Remembrance Day is an imperialist celebration of extreme state violence, in which people and the billions of innocent civilians do not matter and its all about the elites who start the wars and the division to protect themselves. Who cares who wins the war, it makes literally no difference to us. We lose and we simply get a different bunch of arseholes sitting in authority over us. That's all it means. Look at the idiots who fought Napoleon. They returned from Waterloo to live in poverty as the elites stole even more power from them. Napoleon was actually the better arsehole. But people stupid and divided enough to pick up a gun against each other, are also stupid enough to listen to arseholes. The Jewish Problem

Amid reports of increasing Anti-Semitism let me try and explain the problem.

When Russia invades Ukraine there was an increase in racism against Russians. When Israel invades Palestine there is an increase in racism against Israelis. Makes perfect sense. It's not targeting a particular people, just a response to State violence.

So what's this about "anti-semitism"? What have Jews got to do with recent events? I mean there was not an increase in hatred towards Russian Orthodox Christians or ethnic Russians when Russia invades? So why Jews? What have Jews got to do with this, or indeed anything?

The difference between Russia and Israel is that Jews have taken over Israel and made themselves into a Political Movement. This means when Israel does anything it is not just Israelis that come under the spot light, but Jews. Well you can see how this is the problem. Making Israel a Jewish state means that Jews everywhere now suffer for Israel's decisions. Nothing unreasonable or illogical about this. If ethnic Russians were linked to Russia then ethnic Russians would be experiencing racism now for Putins choices. Our previous MP in UK was ethnic Russian but clearly there is no connection between Boris Johnson and and Putin or Russia and no one extended their hatred of Russia to Mr Johnson. But had he been Jewish then he would accept a fundamental connection with Israel and Israeli politics, deeper in fact than their connection to Britain (one very important reason to exclude Jews from representing Britain in politics). Benjamin Netanyahu need remember that what he does does not just have a bearing on Israel but Jews across the planet, because whether Jews like it or not Israel has claimed them.

To solve this Jews need to depoliticise and separate themselves from Israel *. Which is what all other people have done except Muslims in some states. So this is an equal lesson for Muslims too. It wouldn't be quite so bad if the Germanic People hadn't been forced to unlink themselves from the state of Germany. Jews understand perfectly well what they need to do regarding Israel because they enforced the same for Germanic people. So as usual rather than Jews crying out at injustice and persecution (as they have a long history of doing going all the way back to an invented slavery in Egypt), look at the causes and make the changes you need to make to solve it (like everyone else does).

I mean Jews really set themselves up to fail. Imagine all the English Whites reminding everyone all the time they are Anglo-Saxon. I worked with a Jew once who always introduced himself as a Jew. Should I introduce myself and let everyone know ad nauseam that I am Anglo-Saxon. It's going to generate hate, especially when I use it as an axe to grind against the world. Wake up idiot Jews! Own your problem and fix it, you are the "chosen people" you fix it, doesn't always expect the Not-Chosen to bail you out and give you yet another leg up.

Basically the key players in the Jewish community are completely wrong, and are using paranoia and fear to consolidate power. What the world needs to do is not play into these idiot hands with hatred. Jews need help and support to escape the trap of ancient stone-age tribal isolationism and fix it like most of the world has been doing for a long time.

* Now there is this belief that Jews are somehow linked to Israel. This is not true. Many tribes have always lived in the area and Jews are just one of the tribes. The reason for the belief that Jews have a special place in the area goes back to a story in their mythology about an escape from Egypt and a Promise from God that he would give them some land. Now England has an identical story with King Arthur founding the land of Albion for the Celts (what is now England). If people believe that the tribe of Jews "belongs" in Israel then they must also believe that Celts "belong" in England and the politics of England should be run by Celts. I think the general consensus is that King Arthur and King David are myths, and the story of Camelot and Exodus are just stories. No one takes them seriously regarding politics. So we can ignore the ideas that Jews have any special connection with the area over and above any other tribe. This is irrelevant to the Jewish Problem. Indeed the "homeland" for Jews in modern history is more complex. The Jewish Territorial Organisation had a few offers including Uganda from the British (1903) and an self-governing region in Argentina from the Argentines (some time after 1880?). That the organisation split regarding these showed divisions in the actual conceptions of the "homeland." Obviously after the Holocaust in 1945 and the British command of Palestine the conditions were set for Israel to be formed in the rough location of the South Israel Kingdom of 586BC before being destroyed by the Babylonians. If we are to go around the world restoring Kingdoms from the C6th BC the world is going to look very different! Really Israel as a real entity is as long gone as the Greek Empire, Assyrian, Babylonia or even Roman Empire. Imagine Rome claiming authority over England based upon the existence of a Kingdom that collapsed in 400AD. It's all an obvious clear nonsense.

So we can simply ignore all the mythological and archaeological claims for Israel. What happened in 1948 was a British decision that made history by itself, like the Partition of India or the creation of Czechoslovakia in 1918. And as we have seen with Czechoslovakia the splitting into Czechia and Slovakia in 1993 shows these boundaries are not even fixed.

What is Evil Part II : Nature, Bird Watching & OCD

started as a footnote to What is Evil and grew...

It is no accident that people find great relief from themselves and their nearby concerns by climbing mountains, but what is not talked about is this is always a temporary relief. True mountains are far away, but they are not really far away like the stars. We need tackle the furthest mountains, the Mountains of Goodness to get real relief.

People say similar things about the relief that comes from being with Nature. Nature is interesting, it is very close by to the Mountains of Goodness. If you can abide in Nature, peaceful and tolerant of the rain, the sun, the discomfort, the comfort, the sublime and the mundane*: if you watch all these things peacefully then you are actually getting very far away towards the stars indeed.

* There is a national bird watch in UK called the Big Garden Bird Watch. One thing that comes up every year is the "No Show". People sit in their gardens and are disappointed that nothing turns up. All the more frustrating for people who know their gardens have many birds to "show" but cannot record them because none turn up in the hour of the bird watch.

Nature is vast. Even when "no show" turns up we are treated to much nature. We experience disappointment, our dopamine levels fall, there is a flatness to life, our expected thrill is not there, and this can trigger all kinds of other latent events: we may feel like a "loser" or "failure", we may feel "abandoned" like Jesus on the cross - albeit a tiny version - as though the world no longer favours us or likes us. It gets really hard when we look on social media at people posting amazing bird visits or bird counts. Then we get all the envy and further self-destructive thoughts and behaviour. A "no show" sown in the right soil could really trigger a total collapse of mood and life. But isn't all this actually a "massive show." Its all nature, this is our body and mind reacting to what has happened. Its as natural as the sun rise in the morning, except this is not beautiful its a fearsome storm that has blown up seemingly from no-where.

Those who know about Karma and Earth-Store (or unconscious in modern speak) know where all this comes from. It's that level of consciousness where all the seeds are planted, they do not show normally but with a bit of watering like "no show" they bloom and often really really fast **. But they are annuals and only bloom once. If we just let them grow they die back quickly and are gone.

The problem with unskilful behaviour is we go over to the bad plants and shake them and throw water on them and end up spreading the seeds far so that the ground is full of even more seeds than before. This is like the Middle East. There are millennia of tensions in the area and layers of seeds buried deep. But rather than just let all these seeds grow and then naturally die; let the massacres happen, let the atrocities manifest, just let all the seeds grow and then pass away *. But no each time something bad happens people are triggered to do more bad things and plant even more seeds. Look at the idiotic Jews right now. After how many 1000 years they never learned that beating people up just leads to more grief down the road. For that matter the Arabs are just as bad, but few people seem to think they are ever right, so that lesson is mostly learned already.

* Its sound ridiculous on rereading to hear the idea of just letting an atrocity pass unpunished. No one says this, which underlines just how ignorant we are. If  1000 "Palestinians" get murdered do the Jews start a war to avenge their death? If 1000 "Jews" get murdered do the Palestinians start a war to avenge their death? What happens is that if  1000 "Palestinians" get murdered the Palestinians start a war to avenge their death. If  1000 "Jews" get murdered the Jews start a war to avenge their death. So its not the atrocities that anyone cares about. Jews don't care about atrocities to Palestinians and Palestinians don't care about atrocities to Jews. What people seem blind to is that the atrocities don't matter. Palestinians were celebrating the recent massacre of Jews. And Jews are celebrating the massacre of Palestinians. No one cares about atrocities!!! Really, really, really, really important to understand. If we cared about atrocities then wars would end, and no one would select military action as a solution. o no we don't care about people dying that is why we kill. All that is left is "sport." We just need make sure we kill people from the other team. Crazy that is sounds, this is the vacuous and pointless truth of war. Looked at the right way, evil always looks stupid.

But anyway Nature is very interesting and is always giving us a "show." of some description. It is just that we most often don't expect the show that Nature gives us and so we respond to it wrong. A "no show "in the Big Garden Bird Watch" may actually be the best show of all! Indeed in spiritual circles they say that the show we get is always the show we need. In Buddhism there is the character of the saint called the Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva is the ultimate "bird watcher" because they are ready to record literally anything that turns up even if it is a foul mood or murderous aggression. They just jot it down on their bird recording sheet. They may not submit it, there is a lot of shame in noting all the things that grow from our Earth Store store house. But write them down anyway, let them grow, and let them die away again and know that is one more seed removed from the soil.

We may think our "soil" is just bad soil because we have so many angers, or lusts, or selfishness (the 3 poisons) but its not all "our" soil. The world soil is all connected. If we allow an anger to come and go and burn itself out then we have saved other people from it. If we pick up and knife or gun and go and act out our anger then we make it other people's problem as well and we sow seeds far and wide and can look forward to many more problems in the future than we currently had.

A sceptic may say, well they deserved it like Palestine attacking Israel or Israel attacking Palestine. Palestinians think the massacre is Divine Retribution for the sacrilege of Israeli troops storming the Al Aqsa mosque in April, and the Israelis think the current attacks are legitimate removal of the rebels in Palestine. But this is exactly how to sow the seeds of evil and make trouble in the future. A bad plant grows in us, and rather than let is just grow and naturally perish, we take it and spread it to others. The only way to end evil, is always just to let it perish by itself, we have nothing to do but be patient. Both Palestine and Israel have just made their futures far, far worse than they already were. Perhaps we can do one thing, and that is encourage others to be patient with evil too. No one in the Middle East appears to have taken even the first step on this journey yet. "Chosen People" has to be one of the greatest and most laughable ironies ever; wasn't it always going to be! Chosen by the Devil perhaps!

There is another name for this practice of "Bird Watching Everything" it is called Vipassana Meditation. It is a practice of mind that encourages a particular strength called Mindfulness. Much is said about Mindfulness in recent Western mental health, but it's an ancient practice I believe practiced across the world at one stage, one known to the Celts and Druids and only eradicated in the West by the Catholic church. What perhaps is not well understood in the West is what has been written here, that Mindfulness is just one mind state and has a particular purpose to keep us free from amongst other things Evil. Even in Occult it is understood that the Dark Arts can only affect a person using the poisons already in them. As Halloween approaches it;s important to understand that no one can harm you, they can only encourage you to harm yourself! And if you are fully mindful there is not even a self to harm!

Another important mind is Concentration. The Meditation to help strengthen that is Anapanasati. Another is Loving Kindness and that meditation is Metta Meditation. The Mind is a vast place, the West tends to package it up, and hope our lives will just carry in as before but with some bonus enhancements bolted on. Really "our life" is what is under scrutiny here, and we need be mindful of that life as a whole.

So that was a massive exposition of Nature and Bird Watching and where that lies in relation to Goodness and the original post: Evil.

** I made the mistake of thinking the "Unconscious" was like the Conscious just in "another room." The idea that there was two people in the one Mind, one who was transparent and you could make freedom of information request to and the other that needed Freud or similar to get access to. In many ways Psychology/Psychiatry is just another perfect capitalist product. It creates the belief that you need pay someone to get access to your self. And the real clue to that being true is the cost of psychology. You know you are being defrauded when it costs a lot just to be normal! Nature is not like this. Nature charges you nothing to be normal, and you only need work and pay for extras (most of which are useless anyway). I mean if Nature charged you for everything then who payed Nature to get life started? And how do butterflies and birds pay nature? Jesus says all this, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them" [Matthew 6:26-27]. We do not need Capitalism in order to be Normal and be with God and his free gift of Nature. And so it is with Conscious and Sub-conscious. They are just natural parts of the whole Mind. If we are really observant we can see the sub-conscious working away. As posted a while back Thich Nhat Hanh notes is as the part of us that drives a car while we are thinking about something else. Its the part of us that works through the night so we wake up with a resolution or answer. It does not sleep, nor wake up, it does not have blanks in concentration or ever get distracted. But it is slow and methodical instead and it reports back to us very slowly compared with the rational mind that races along and involves people in discussion like this very blog right now. This is my rational mind reporting all many remembered sub-conscious events, learnings and other things. This is why I am writing this today and not a year ago in the blog. And of course the big thing the Subconscious does is keep the seeds that will bloom into our experiences and our future worlds. If we have done many "bad" things then expect a dark future. If we have done may "good "things then expect a sunlight future. However whatever future blooms from our store house actually the most important approach should be the same: be mindful and observe the growing and the withering of all things. As every happiness will come and go, so will every sadness. And while this year you may get a "no show" in the bird watch, next year you may record a Golden Eagle (was always the joke with some friends). It purely depends what is in our store house.

We may think I can see an eagle any time, and so prove storehouse wrong! So we get on the ferry to Isle of Skye and spend a week looking for Golden Eagles. If storehouse says "no" then we won't see anything. In fact store house fruited the desire to prove storehouse wrong in the first place. Sitting on the ferry with a need to see Golden Eagles was Store House all along! It didn't exactly build the ferry, but we found our self on this ferry because of Store House. "With your thoughts you make the world" says Buddha. This is what he means by make, you bring it around. That is where the sudden need to see Golden Eagles came from. Many other people don't have that burning desire or thought. Indeed we don't always have that burning desire. It grew because of Store House. Not that things growing from Store House is bad, but it helps to understand the process especially when Store House grows a giant weed.

Ah quick note on OCD. Sudden emergence of thoughts, often concerning and upsetting. This then triggers emotional responses, and physiological reactions like fear and panic. Damn that Store House. So OCD is just a little different. The problem for OCD and non-OCD is that with OCD you cannot tell the difference between "just a thought" and "genuine wish." You stand on the edge of a cliff and you have the thought "wow I could actually just jump off now." It starts as "just a thought." But if we are not absolutely rock solid in it "being just a thought" we can get sucked in. "Shit! goes the panic, I just though about jumping off. I really could do that. What is stopping me. Wow nothing stopping me. And I've had the though again, am I really going tod do this? Stop it you are talking yourself into it now. But I don't know anymore whether I am at risk, or whether things are cool. Really panicking now, I need to get away from the edge of this cliff, I am unsafe here. I need some assurance that this is just a thought and I have none. I could be/am a risk to myself and others.... and so on." Full on panic.

So in a way this is Storehouse in that the emergence of these thoughts is obviously a seed growing. But the key issue is not the thoughts but the Cartesian Doubt. Did I turn the light off? Let me turn it on again to be sure. Oh now its on, did I turn it off. Got stuck again. The problem lies in the doubt. I really think Descartes was suffering from OCD in fact. The whole of Modern Philosophy comes from a few days in winter and a case of OCD! Indeed winter would make sense as lots of brain chemicals change and things like depression and low Dopamine I believe trigger OCD. Eat fish get that Omega 3 and green vegetables it helps!

So the doubt is what is really what is coming from Store House. And going half circle it is Mindfulness to see all this OCD doubt breaking out that is really needed. Before long you can stand on the edge of cliff and actually enjoy the breakout of thoughts and doubt (up to a level - panic is always a tough physical response to observe impartially especially in an unsafe situation because you start to be believe you really are in danger and that adds weight to the belief you are in danger and makes the panic worse) because you can just see it all and know your feet are firmly on the ground and you see they are going to stay there. But OCD while looking like Evil is not actually evil. No one who is really experiencing evil stops in a moment of doubt, indeed the lack of doubt is the while problem for evil people: they have real conviction in what they are doing: see Palestine or Israel for solid examples. They could do with OCD!
