Joy of Poverty

It possibly seems weird that the blog got stuck with this name. What has that to do with discussion of self-reference, existence and such things.

Well the point is that the blog should be heading towards an appreciation of the innate given nature of the world. We don't need to gain anything to have it all. Well Capitalism will try and trip us up and make us think we need stuff, but surely we grow weary of this way of thinking pretty quick. How many cycles of getting something "new" do we need to go through to realise that eventually it will be "old" and we will be wanting a new one for ever. There is no end to this. All material gain like this is tainted. And like girlfriends a new girlfriend is some one else old girlfriend. The only way to end this is to stick with what you have and appreciate it. And you can do that at the start and save all the effort.

So appreciate what you have. And that means looking at what is already here. This is now science rather than technology. Why make new things, we already have everything we need. It we don't then we're dead already! And if we are not dead we already have everything we need.

Now when we turn into the world and look at is as it is, we then face this "self" issue and we try to own that instead. So problems occur. But we're in the blog now and enjoying things the way they are and the poverty of that.
