I've come to see a weird lack of symmetry to the "anti-semitic" trope. I don't really buy it. Humans are humans and we do horrible things to each other is about the best truth here. To start breaking that down and politicising it for the benefit for a certain political group is highly suspicious to me. From what I can see there is no meaning to "Jew" beyond politics. It's a new designation that arose in the 19th Century and there should be no real connection between the traditional ethnic group and the modern political group. Ethnically Jews are Middle Eastern so all these Russians are not the same ethnicity, they are just the same religion. ChatGPT agrees that there is no real ethnicity here, but it says it is so intertwined it is hard to separate. The question I now have is what did the NAZIs think they were attacking? The Arabs were on their side so they had no problem with Middle Eastern ethnicity. I think they may have been going after this Political Group, the one that was attributed to the Russian Revolution. Ethnically the NAZIs were after Russians which is what we see coming out in Ukraine now with NAZI groups attacking Russians. Anyway a "Jew" is not so clear and they make out these days and to give them a country is just nonsense. I wonder with modern Woke what "Jews" would do if I self identified with being a "Jew" LOL, seem Simon Sharma is free to self identify as English. Whole thing a nonsense. Now look at how "anti-semitism" is used - its primary a Right-Wing attack on the Left and usually with no substance at all. Netanyahu claimed "Anti-Semitism" when people said he had gone to far in Gaza. That sums up in a nutshell what these term means. And when Corby was ousted on a whipped up hysteria of Anti-Semitism you see the same. The worst thing he did was attend a conference where there was a single Hamas member representing the Palestinians. So no one convinced me in any way. And then there is the Holocaust... hmmmm one of the most probabilistic periods in History and if there is one thing we know for sure about all History: it is political and literally never true.
A search for happiness in poverty. Happiness with personal loss, and a challenge to the wisdom of economic growth and environmental exploitation.
