Is Violence Normal?

Interesting that Gwen Adshead picks out "normalising violence." Yet you only need look at the media from the Imperialist Capitalist nations that have used violence pathologically to spread their empires to see how literally every movie you ever saw normalised the gun and violence. Always thought that was weird; how the Americans in particular see murder as somehow a quality of the hero *. By contrast it is illegal in Iran to portray violence on film. Where is the real seat of "civilisation" and progress on this planet?

* of course The Americans must deal with the genocide and slavery at the heart of their nation. I think rather than deal with the magnitude of their crimes it is easier to pretend Americans are normal.
