Got it! No self in the processing stream

It is amazing how self hides latently in our views. It has been a long time coming but finally primarily through dialogue with ChatGPT a residual self has been outed.

So the common view is that "inside" life there is a self. This self holds many roles. It can be the voter who underpins the idea of democracy. It can be the chooser who makes market decisions to buy products. It can be the thinker. It can be the lover. It can be the experiencer of everything that happens to us and makes our life lived and real.

But we can have all this without such a homunculus at the centre.

So great we remove the person behind the telescope and promote the telescope to the entire process.

However a self still lurks!

That entire process is still a self!

You can remove the homunculus at the end and promote the process of experience to the end point. I mean after the eyes have seen and the brain and processed what purpose does the next person at the end serve. Do they have a second pair of eyes and a second brain to complete the process? NO seeing is just what eyes and brains do.

However when we promote the entire process to complete vision with no one outside benefitting from all this processing, we may still trap a self inside to "be" the experience.

When there is no need for self then there is not a self inside or outside the process. There is just the process of experience.
