His predecessor Tony Blair started the whole thing by saying yes to the Bank of England allowing it control over interests rates leading to the housing bubble in the first place. Talk about give the robbers the keys to the safe.
But the biggest problem is the UK general public brainwashed on a diet of utter trash and stupidity by the establishment press; ill educated and gullible eating every bit of rotten cast off the establishment throws at them without even tasting it.
