Is the world really going to run all the way up to the cliff before realising the problem?

Yet for an economy to work money needs to go in a loop. The US model is: You spend, that goes into paying dividends and salaries to fund further spending. Rest of the world is: you get an income (by dividend or salary), you spend.
As machines take over the work force how do they get a salary and spend? They don't! The machine owners just get all the money. The economy collapses. This will be the end of Capitalism. Might be a good idea to solve this before the end ;-) But who will pay someone to solve it when the capitalists are getting all the gains! In 100,000 years they will be sifting through the rubble of just another boom/bust civilisation.
